Koru Hills

Private geo domes, lodge & casino at Lake Hawea
Open all year, reservations by phone

Koru Hills takes its name from the unfurling silver fern, a symbol of new beginnings, and that is exactly how a stay here should feel. Our boutique retreat sits among the high-country hills of Lake Hawea, a short drive from Wanaka. Each private geo dome is warm and light-filled, with views that change through the day. In the evening the lodge brings everyone together around the fire and the dinner table, and guests looking for a little excitement can finish the night in our intimate on-site casino.

Koru Hills is an adults-only escape, calm by day and relaxed at night. Families are welcome when they book the whole property; give our team a call and we will arrange everything with you.
Before you book, please read our Booking Policy.

Casino at Koru Hills

When the sun goes down over Lake Hawea, the lodge comes alive. Our boutique casino is an intimate gaming lounge a short stroll from your dome, with modern slots, classic pokies and relaxed table games run by a friendly host team.

It is a great way to end a day in the mountains: a glass of Central Otago wine, the glow of the fire and a few spins on your favourite pokies. Newcomers are always welcome. Our hosts will explain every game and help you set a budget before you play.

Our story

Koru Hills began with a simple idea: the best holidays are the ones where you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Our hosts know the lake, the mountains and the local growers by name, and they love sharing all of it with every guest who comes through the lodge door.

We look after this land as carefully as we enjoy it. Energy-efficient domes and seasonal menus from Central Otago producers are part of how we work, so the hills stay as beautiful for the next guest as they were for you.
